Position Summary

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist II will be responsible for compliance with Heraeus EHS standards at the site level, for the White Bear Lake, MN site. The EHS Specialist II will report to the EHS Manager and will support execution of EHS standards and policy while promoting a culture of safety.

This position will be onsite at the White Bear Lake, MN location, with occasional travel to the Fridley, MN location.

What You’ll Do Every Day:

  • Promote EHS stewardship, ownership, and accountability while inspecting and providing EHS guidance and support to the designated sites.
  • Help ensure company compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
  • Develop and implement programs, policies, procedures and associated training materials, and coordinate EHS-related training to location managers and associates, as needed.
  • Assist the sites in progressively improving in the Heraeus Development Path 2.0 (“Basic Level” towards “Advanced” and then “Expert” levels.).
  • Establish a close working relationship and communicates with the EHS manager, department managers, supervisors, cell leads and associates to achieve overall business objectives pertaining to EHS.
  • Prepare written reports on inspections, accident investigations, statistical information on injuries and illnesses, employee complaints or concerns.
  • Assist EHS manager in Worker’s Compensation Claims Management for U.S. sites.
  • Analyst EHS data and assist with the strategic development of trend analyses and metrics reports for sites to drive down injury rates and improve other aspects of EHS performance.
  • Review current literature, trade publications, and EHS regulations in order to remain current regarding all OSHA and other applicable EHS standards and regulations.
  • Other duties assigned as required.

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Health or engineering-related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar EHS role in a manufacturing or operations environment.
  • Understanding of relevant laws and regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and MN State regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver EHS-related training to colleagues.
  • Ability to problem solve, use reference materials, and optimize organizational strategies effectively.
  • Capable interacting with others and promoting internal customer satisfaction.

Medevio is committed to providing competitive total compensation and benefits packages. The expected hiring range for this position is between $86,500 and 98,000 based upon a full-time schedule. This is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. Base salaries are determined by taking a variety of factors in account, including, but not limited to, candidate qualifications, geographic locations, market conditions and internal equity. This position is bonus eligible, with a 10% bonus target. Our total compensation package includes eligibility for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, education reimbursement, paid parental leave and paid time off.
