From the city to the countryside? Crazy!
Nicole Kietzmann, Controller & Team Lead Controlling Services
"My friends' expressions spoke volumes. ‘You want to do what? Move to Wehrheim? That's the middle of nowhere!’ I had just completed my dual study program at Heraeus in Hanau and could have found a position in the hiring department there. At the same time, however, I was eyeing the offer from Wehrheim, a place that many people must google first.

In the Controlling team at Heraeus Medical. I got to know my colleagues and the work in Controlling while I was still studying, and I expressed my desire to pursue this career after graduation. So I took the plunge. I wanted to work with international colleagues, supervise development projects, calculate manufacturing costs, develop business plans with project managers, and really make a difference. But even more importantly, I asked myself what really matters to me in a job. The answer was clear: good teamwork, a positive culture, and a product I believe in. So I followed my heart, because I liked the team, the product, and the culture here from the very beginning.
Arriving and feeling at home
So I joined the controlling team at Heraeus Medical in Wehrheim. People enjoy coming here. Even after COVID-19, we still enjoy coming to the office. Why? Because we feel comfortable, appreciated, and able to develop ourselves further. Because we can talk about things that are important to us. After only a short time, I was given the opportunity to take on a team leadership role. The trust of my supervisor enabled me to shape my own area of responsibility. Open communication is the key here. If you are looking for new tasks and challenges, they will be given to you. Personal development is seen as an important part of the job. And the teamwork and cooperation within the organization are something special. Sometimes, great happiness lies in the little things.”
