Sales Service Technician (i.e. Field Service Technician)

Territory includes Northwest Indiana - Gary, Hammond, Burns Harbor, East Chicago

Work Location: Remote working out of home office in IN

Heraeus Electro Nite Co., LLC, is the world leader for sensor and instrumentation for analysis of molten steel. We are looking for a Sales Service Technician who is a self-starter, able to work unsupervised and able to travel 75-100% by driving and occasionally by flying. The Sales Service Technician must reside in OH and travel to and work on site at our steel mill customers in Cleveland, Middletown and Detroit with some occasional visits to PA

Incumbent will provide regular hands on, onsite service and support to steel mill customers. Support and service include routine as well as urgent visits to customer sites to ensure that Heraeus Electro Nite equipment and products are in working order and no interruption to the customer's production schedule occur due to instrument/sensor related issues. Incumbent will also ensure inventory levels are adequate for planned usage.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

Provide onsite service and support to customers including routine as well as urgent visits to customer sites to ensure that Heraeus Electro Nite's (HEN) equipment and products are in working order and that there is no interruption to the customer’s production schedule due to instrument/sensor related issues.
Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and conduct trials.
Evaluate, track and record inventory levels at customer sites.
Build poles and conduct preventative maintenance on all HEN equipment in the field.

What is Required for this Role:

Minimum of an associate degree in electronics, electrical, industrial maintenance, instrumentation, or related industrial field desired.
Previous experience in steel mills, iron foundry or other molten metals processing facilities desired, alternatively, experience in heavy industrial environment ok.
Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge along with pneumatics experience a must.

Ability to work out of a home office located in the Northwest Indiana area.
Ability and willingness to travel domestically 75-100% (daily and overnight).

Incumbent must be willing to work in a hot and cold industrial environment & adhere to strict safety policies, wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and have the ability to occasionally lift and or move up to 50lbs.
Willingness to respond, on occasion, to customer emergencies during off hours or weekends.
Ability to follow directions and is ok with repetition/repetitious work.
Valid driver’s license a must.
Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
Favorable background check and drug screening required.
