Compliance Investigator

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage internal investigations primarily across the Great China region, and support cross-border investigations and other investigative matters across the Asia Pacific region as needed.
  • Conduct independent and objective internal investigations involving allegations of misconduct, fraud, bribery, corruption, conflict of interest, financial irregularities, and other compliance-related matters.
  • Develop investigation plans, identify key issues, and determine appropriate investigative methodologies.
  • Gather, review, analyze, and assess documentary, financial, electronic, and testimonial evidence.
  • Conduct interviews of complainants, witnesses, subjects, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and well-supported investigation reports, including findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Present investigation outcomes and recommendations to Integrity Office leadership and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Legal, Human Resources, Internal Audit, IT, Finance, and OpCo leaders throughout the investigation process.
  • Maintain investigation records and ensure that investigations are conducted in accordance with company policies, applicable laws, and professional standards.
  • Support remediation activities and monitor implementation of corrective actions arising from investigation outcomes.
  • Identify trends and emerging risks from investigation activities and contribute to continuous improvement of the compliance program.
  • Support regional and global compliance initiatives as assigned by the Head of Investigations.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-6 years of relevant professional experience in:
  • Forensic investigations, fraud investigations, or forensic accounting within a Big Four accounting or law/consulting firm; and/or
  • Corporate internal investigations, ethics and compliance, forensic audit, or similar investigative functions within multinational organizations.
  • Strong experience conducting fact-finding investigations and stakeholder interviews.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
  • Ability to draft professional investigation reports and present findings effectively in English.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle highly sensitive and confidential matters.
