Job Purpose

Responsible for designing and building custom automation equipment and fixtures for medical device manufacturing. Must have a desire to learn and implement rapidly changing technology to deliver the best possible solution.

Provides hands-on design expertise for internal and external projects
Provides internal process analysis and recommendation for technical improvement
Works effectively with suppliers and internal resources to achieve project objectives

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Designs automation equipment and fixtures for new product development and transfer projects.
Uses GD&T to complete catheter assembly and sub-assembly drawings
Purchases, assembles and troubleshoots components and systems to ensure successful implementation and qualification in production.
Completes equipment, fixtures and device drawings within project timelines
Accurately reports and communicates progress and bottlenecks. Seeks additional resources when needed.
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

BS in Engineering required
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in automated equipment development.
Medical device industry experience required as a must.
Experience with CAD and SolidWorks for machine design.
Must demonstrate strong collaborative communication skills.
Must possess a strong general understanding of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and automated systems.
Must be able to manage multiple parallel projects with varying scopes and deadlines from concept to production qualification using established HMC processes.
Must be able to draw on prior knowledge and experience and adapt to initiate effective solutions to problems at hand.
Must demonstrate a high level of initiative and creativity.
Must be able to perform independently.
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Must be adaptive to change and willing to support a variety of work assignments to fulfill internal and external customer expectations.
Excellent and clear verbal and written communication skills in English
Must be willing and able to travel as needed.
Ability to perform occasional lifting (up to 35 pounds), bending, stooping, sitting, standing
