The primary responsibility of this positio is to be responsible for troubleshooting support of plant problems, project management: budgeting, scheduling, contractors, bids, purchasing, and programming/automation topics at HPM Santa Fe Springs, CA.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of next generation production processes and improvement of the existing technology
  • Supports production in the case of acute problems either with responsible Manager approval, or in an emergency with prompt notification to appropriate management
  • Plans and execute assigned projects for the development of new processes and products under special consideration of costs and time schedule
  • Develops and executes projects related to production in close working together with production managers, supervisors, and operators
  • Maintain complete documentation of assigned projects including operational, working instructions and procedures according to HPMN’s ISO system
  • Provides proper training of supervisors and operators for new and improved processes or products
  • Maintenance improvement and troubleshooting of existing process control equipment as well as development, programming and integration of new systems to improve safety, quality and overall process control on existing and future systems
  • Design and programming of HMI systems for advanced process control and monitoring
  • Design and programming of PLC systems to improve process flow, process quality, operator safety
  • Design and startup of control equipment including but not limited to electrical panels, field sensors, transmitters, MCC, PLC and HMI systems
  • Development of critical spare part listing for PLC and interface systems

What is Required for this Role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Automation, Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  • 5+ years controls experience in chemical facilities
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player
