Job Summary

The following challenges await you: 

  • The primary responsibility of this position is to purchase materials for manufacturing as well as supplies and services for the facility. Build and maintain strong internal & external supplier relationships to achieve continuous improvements in delivery, quality and cost.  Participate in supply chain decision making. Prepares surveys, reports, memos, letters, and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software.
  • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals and review requisitions for goods and services.
  • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier’s reputation and history.
  • Identify new sources of materials and services and ensure that they are qualified to perform, within limitations and scope of authority.
  • Negotiate prices and contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Find opportunities to negotiate term discounts.
  • Support SAP data maintenance and procurement tools and processes
  • Work with internal customers and suppliers to solve claims related to invoices, damaged goods/returned goods, delivery performance and quality of delivered goods and services. Approve invoices for payment.
  • Perform and monitor analytics such as purchase price variance, safety stock levels, late purchase order and open purchase order reports, and manufacturing forecasting.

Your Profile

We are looking for people who are not just open to new ideas, but want to bring fresh thinking, energy and a creative perspective to their work. Some of the traits and qualifications the ideal candidate would possess include:

  • A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain or related discipline, and a minimum of two years of experience supporting a manufacturing setting are required. 
  • Proven ability to plan and prioritize multiple tasks. 
  • Computer proficiency in an ERP system such as SAP as well as MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel is required.
  • APICS certification is preferred.
